Why Learn CPR?
A human heart will cease beating within 4 minutes after breathing stops

Permanent brain damage can occur within 4-6 minutes after breathing stops.

The survival rates of individuals suffering cardiac arrest decreases by approximately 7-10% every minute that defibrillation is delayed

On average, every injury in Canada costs $4000 in direct and indirect costs.

More than a third of Canadian deaths each year are attributed to coronary disease, which makes it the leading cause of death in Canada.

Injuries are the leading cause of death for Canadians between the ages of 1-44 and kill more children under the age of 19 than all other causes of death combined.

For an injured casualty, immediate first aid can make the difference between complete recovery and permanent disability.

Research shows that Canadians who have first aid training can reduce their own personal injuries by 40%

It’s a bright sunny day, you’re walking in the park  with your children the family dog is chasing a ball, when you begin to feel a tingling in your arm, then dizziness, then you black out….

This is already a life-threatening situation, however if no one in the vicinity is trained in CPR, life-saving seconds are lost waiting for paramedics to arrive.  CPR and First Aid are invaluable skills, which may be called upon at any given moment.
